ARiSTON extra virgin olive oils have a superior quality, which meets the stringent requirements while preserving a focus on environmental consciousness and tradition. They are produced in the regions of Ermioni and Kranidi in Peloponnese in a total area of 35 hectares. Most of the estate’s oldest living olive trees are estimated to be more than 2500 years old and still producing prized olives. The region consists of high hills covered with olive groves and small forests. As a result of the south-facing aspect of the area, the olive trees are exposed to direct sunlight and the micro-climate is warm.Respecting the tradition, our olives are harvested by hand (hand-picked) avoiding any damage to the olives or the twigs.
Almost 80% of the olive trees cultivated in our estate and in the region of Ermioni are of the “Manaki” variety. Manaki is the local variety, grown in Ermioni for centuries. It is resistant to high altitudes, has dark color, oval shape and distinctive sweetness. It is considered being one of the most recongnizable and excellent quality Greek olive variety. Koroneiki olive is rather new in the region, cultivated during the last five decades. It is resistant to low temperatures and drought, has small size, green color and a vivid flavor.Our olive oils are obtained from the aforementioned olive varieties and solely by mechanical means. The olives are cold pressed within 5 hours from harvest, resulting in low acidity. retaining in this manner the best quality of olive oil.
